The New York Giants are 2-12 on the season and I believe nobody is surprised. They are a terrible football team and their front office earned it. I know Saquon Barkley is thanking the Lord or whoever he believes in that he is in Philadelphia now.
In 2019, the Giants drafted Daniel Jones with the sixth pick in the draft. In hindsight you can say this was terrible choices but I felt it was terrible pick in real time. I watched him in a few games while Jones was playing at Duke and a NFL franchise quarterback is not what I seen in his future. However, to be fair, the quarterback draft class in 2019 overall was not good. After Kyler Murray, I thought the next quarterback to be drafted should have been Drew Lock or Dwayne Haskins (RIP) and they are not or were not looking good themselves.
Long story short, Daniel Jones looked promising in his rookie season, and then played like a backup level quarterback expecting to lead a franchise ever since. Yet and still, the Giants decided to give him a 4 year $160 million contract and let running back Saquon Barkley who was their best player walk. Disgusting! Daniel Jones continued to be himself proving that he was not a quarterback that was going to lead their franchise into a winning situation, gets cut by the Giants, and now on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.
In conclusion, Joe Schoen, the general manager and senior vice president of the New York Giants, have a lot of work to do to make up for terrible decisions that has been done. Watching Saquon Barkley go to a division rival, Philadelphia Eagles, and have a MVP level season has to plague his mind. What do the future look like for the football Giants? Maybe they can draft Shedeur Sanders to be their fans beacon of hope and build from there.
