Rest in peace to the late, great Pete Rose. One of the true legends in the history of Major League baseball. Rose is a baseball hall of famer. Well, sort of. Pete Rose was never inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, however, he is in the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Rose was ruled ineligible because he was gambling on games that he played in and coached.
Pete Rose retired as a 17-time all star, a three time World Series champion, a one time World Series MVP, two time Golden Glove award recipient, and a three time National League batting champion. “Charlie Hustle” had one of the greatest résumés in baseball history.
Now that Pete Rose is no longer with us, I am hoping that they do not decide to put him in Cooperstown. In my opinion, if they decide to make him eligible now, it will be disrespectful to him and his family. If they truly wanted him to be in the Hall of Fame, they would have done it while he was alive and was able to celebrate with all his loved ones. Rose did not play or manage in Major League Baseball since 1989. They had more than enough time to have him inducted if they wanted him to be. Deciding to do it now that he passed away will be only for publicity and not to appreciate what Pete Rose has done in the sport. Please be respectful and show some class by keeping him out of Cooperstown.
